Stu and Ruth Ann Batstone
Stu and Ruth Ann Batstone became part of World Harvest Mission in 1990 after several years of running three Christian bookstores which they had founded. Stu joined as a discipler with the North American Renewal ministry while Ruth Ann became a therapist at a nearby Christian counseling center.
Stu has since become the team leader for the discipling ministries of the gospel resources network. He mentors church planters, pastors, missionaries, and leaders as well as their spouses through the year-long Sonship discipleship curriculum. He is currently writing a study guide on repentance as a lifestyle. Stu has an MA and an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL.
While Ruth Ann continues to be a counselor in private practice, she also mentors women through WHM’s Sonship course and she regularly teaches women’s bible studies. She recently completed a study guide on forgiveness. She loves to play keyboard and has a passion to write and lead worship. Ruth Ann has an MS in Counseling Psychology.
Stu and Ruth Ann lead monthly seminars for WHM on Cultivating Marriage Intimacy by Grace, Cultivating Heart Renewal by Grace, and Learning to Parent by Grace. They have ministered overseas in Europe, Russia, Japan and South America as well as in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Their training material has been translated into Russian, Japanese and Spanish.
They have been married since 1965 and have four married children (and so far they have eleven grandkids). They love to travel, snorkel, bike ride and vacation on Cape Cod.
