Stu and Ruth Ann Batstone
Stu and Ruth Ann Batstone became part of World Harvest Mission in 1990 after several years of managing three Christian bookstores that they had founded. Stu joined WHM as a discipler with the renewal ministry at about the same time that Ruth Ann became a therapist at a nearby Christian counseling center.
Stu soon became the team leader for the discipling ministries of the gospel resource network. He mentors church planters, pastors, missionaries, and leaders as well as their spouses through the yearlong Sonship discipleship curriculum. He is the gospel discipling specialist for the new discipler-training program. Stu has an MA and an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL.
While Ruth Ann continues to be a counselor in private practice, she also mentors women through WHM’s Sonship course. Ruth Ann has an MS in Counseling Psychology. She is also a staff member of Parakaleo – a ministry that ministers to the wives of church planters both in the US and internationally.
Stu and Ruth Ann regularly lead seminars for WHM on Cultivating a Gospel Centered Marriage, Cultivating Gospel Transformation of the Heart, and Cultivating Gospel Centered Parenting. They have ministered overseas in Europe, Russia, Japan, India, Costa Rica and South America as well as in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Their training material has been translated into Russian, Japanese and Spanish.
They have been married since 1965 and have four married children (and so far twelve amazing grandchildren with whom they love to spend time). They also really enjoy opportunities to bike ride, travel, snorkel and vacation on Cape Cod.
