Chrissy Chipriano

Growing up in Maryland, Chrissy had a strong interest in other cultures from a very young age. It wasn’t until her first trip to India in 2006 that she began to consider missions on a deeper level. In college, Chrissy began to spend her summers on international mission trips, which took her back to India, to London as a WHM intern, and to Senegal. Each of these experiences further developed the missionary heart God had placed in her and the calling to go. With each trip, Chrissy also realized her deep love for people of other cultures and creating meaningful relationships with them. Attending Nyack College on the outskirts of New York City has also given Chrissy the chance to be surrounded by an ethnically diverse student body while studying her major of Cross-Cultural Studies. She will graduate with a B.A. in May 2010.

In 2009, Chrissy had the chance to volunteer several times in a community health center in Queens, NY. God used this time to cultivate her passion for meeting the felt needs of people in addition to sharing the Gospel with them. God has opened the doors for Chrissy to do exactly this in Uganda. She is thrilled to join the team in Bundibugyo and to assist them in the realms of health care, nutrition, and education. She hopes to be primarily involved in a nutrition program for malnourished children and is also excited to help teach at the Rwenzori Mission School. She looks forward to sharing God’s grace and redemption with others as she continues to experience it anew each day.
