Joshua Dickenson
Joshua Dickenson was appointed in the fall of 2010 by World Harvest Mission to serve as a water engineer and missionary in Bundibugyo, Uganda.
Josh was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL and was home-schooled from second grade to high school graduation. After high school graduation, Josh enrolled at the University of Florida (GO GATORS!) and graduated in the spring of 2005 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. During his undergraduate collegiate years, Josh was a Younglife leader at a local middle school in Gainesville, FL whose ministry focused on relational evangelism and mentoring. After graduation from college, Josh interned as a middle school youth pastor at his home church in Jacksonville, Christ Church - PCA, and then interned with WHM for seven months in Bundibugyo, Uganda as a water engineer. During this 7 month, 2-part internship in 2006-7, Josh worked in tandem with Michael Masso on the rehabilitation of non-functioning water supply systems and the design and project management of a 14 km end to end gravity flow water supply system serving the village of Butoogo. In May of 2011, Josh graduated with a PhD in Environmental Engineering and Science at the University of Florida.
Josh has a heart and vision for serving the poor through clean water projects, water resource planning, university coorperatives and sharing Jesus in the joys and sorrows of life with the Babwisi people in Bundibugyo, Uganda.
