Molly Harrington
Molly grew up in southeastern Virginia and received her Masters in Teaching and B.A. in Sociology from the University of Virginia. As an undergraduate, Molly heard the transforming news of the gospel and began following the Lord. God opened her eyes to the poor of the world through her sociology classes on inequality and mission trips to slums and refugee camps in Nicaragua, where she first encountered the work of Christian missionaries.
In 2010, God merged Molly’s passions for education and missions as she accepted a position teaching the children of missionaries at an international school in Kampala, Uganda. During her year in Kampala, Molly discovered her love for Ugandan people, the culture of East Africa, and the unique situation of third-culture kids. She also met the World Harvest team serving in a remote village in western Uganda, Bundibugyo, and began praying about her future involvement with them.
Currently, Molly resides in Atlanta where she teaches fourth grade. Beginning in the summer of 2013, she looks forward to serving the families on the World Harvest Bundibugyo team by teaching their children at Rwenzori Mission School.
