Carolyn Stonehouse
Carolyn Stonehouse was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. After graduating from the University of Alberta with a degree in Political Philosophy, she was recruited to work in Washington, DC with a political training organization.
Carolyn went on to work for many years with Prison Fellowship International where she played key roles in the creation and implementation of a variety of people-serving programs. These included the development of short-term, missions trips bringing medical relief and business training to prisoners in developing countries; micro-enterprise lending programs in Africa, Asia and Latin America and Prison Fellowship's initial faith-based prison started in Houston, Texas.
Following her time with the international ministry, Carolyn served as the National Director of Angel Tree for the US-based ministry of Prison Fellowship where she oversaw the program's reorganization. Though in existence for 18 years, the program grew by more than 22% in its first year of reorganization and was serving more than 600,000 at-risk children nationwide upon her departure.
For the five years prior to being called to World Harvest Mission, Carolyn ran her own non-profit consultancy specializing in new program development, program reengineering, strategic planning and marketing. She has a deep love for seeing God bring the healing truth of the Gospel to the world through His church, and has a great sense of calling in providing effective infrastructure that allows the church to minister on His behalf.
Carolyn and her husband Tim live in Philadelphia, PA where he runs his own remodeling business. They are active in their local church and look forward to opportunities to minister together at home and overseas.
