David & Rebecca Griffith
The Griffith family is from Greenville, SC where they are members of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church. David and Rebecca both became believers from an early age and met each other at church. They began dating while in college and were married in 1994. They have four children Will (15), Katie (13), Ashley (10), and Emily (8).
In 2008 David and Will went on a short term mission trip with their church to Kenya to work with their friends George and Martha Mixon, who have been serving in Kenya since 1994. This is when the Griffiths were first introduced to Chronological Bible Storying. God was at work in David’s heart by showing him the beauty of both the people and the land of Kenya, as well as the brokeness, corruption and the great need of the Gospel. In August of 2011, David and Will returned to Kenya again with a team from MRPC on a short term trip to assist the Mixons with their ministry. Again David was touched with the way that the Kenyan people received the spoken word of God through Bible Storying. It was during that trip that he was first presented with the idea of serving in Kenya full time. In late August 2011, David and Rebecca began seriously praying about the possibility of joining the Mixons in Kenya to help train and disciple pastors through Bible storying. After a vision trip to Kenya in November of 2011, God confirmed the call for the Griffith family to this ministry. They are excited about the opportunity to go and share the good news of the Gospel with the people of Kenya. The Griffiths prayerfully anticipate beginning their five year term in the spring or summer of 2013.
A personal note from the Griffiths: We are so excited about this life-changing opportunity to be able to serve on the mission field in Kenya. We are eager to see how the Lord will work in our children's lives as they become third culture kids. Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare our family for these profound changes in our lives. Pray that we will keep our eyes on our Father, that we will trust him, and that we will be faithful to serve Him.
