David and Esther Miller
David and Esther were both raised in Christian homes and made professions of faith at a young age. Esther graduated from Bob Jones University in 1976 and met Dave that summer at a camp where he was working in maintenance, while she worked with the children’s ministry. They married the following summer. Dave graduated from Lancaster Bible College in 1981 and in 1987 from Westminster Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in religion. In addition to maintenance, Dave has worked as a printer, butcher, sexton, and general contractor in order to get through school. He ministered as a pastoral intern in South Philadelphia in the late 80’s and then served as the church planting pastor of New Life Northeast Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia from 1995 – 2001. A year later, Dave began participating in annual mission trips to Chile to do construction to work with Brad Wallace. The Millers were appointed as World Harvest missionaries to Chile in September of 2005.
After language studies they arrived on the field 12 days before the massive earthquake that hit Chile on February 27, 2010. They are currently working as Team Leaders with a vision to expand the work of World Harvest throughout Latin America.
Dave and Esther were married in 1977. They serve in Chile with their 16 year-old son, Ben. and have three married daughters in Bloomington, IL, Philadelphia, and Washington DC, along with 4 grand-children. They enjoy finding "picas" (a Chilean word for small restaurants with good food), seeing new places, reading, and tinkering.
