Danielle Martinelli

Danielle was born into a loving Christian home in California, but was uprooted to Atlanta, Ga and soon after to Boston, Ma. Going to a Christian middle school and being involved in her local church created a foundation for biblical study and relationship with Christ. During a prayer vigil at her church, she felt the Lord’s calling to go to the public school for sophomore year. After getting a taste of missions, being selected to go to South Africa her junior seemed to fit. When she didn’t hear the ‘call’ for missions there, she thought the Lord didn’t have full time missions in her future.

For College she ventured down to Elon University in NC in 2008. Choosing communications as a major was meant to lead to a job in the fashion industry. Therefore selecting London to study abroad for a semester, and having an internship in fashion was a natural fit. Instead of falling in love with fashion, she fell in love with the city and for the church she attended. Her eyes were open to the darkness that surrounds the city as it is rejecting the Church. In the last year and half, she couldn’t shake her love and desire to return and help the city.

At Elon, she was a leader in InterVarsity and while she first thought the Lord was calling her to go on staff, the desire to help minister to young people questioning their identity was molded with the desire for the lost in London. Instead of having life planned out perfectly, Danielle is learning how to trust the Lord. She has followed this next calling by being accepted into the Missionary Apprenticeship Program in London for September 2013.
