Jessica Richards
There are three basic things you need to know about Jessica: she loves God, she loves Story, and she loves people. She grew up all over the country with a family that was involved in youth ministries in various churches and with different organizations throughout her life. As a child, her parents read to her not only the Bible but also C. S. Lewis’ “Chronicles of Narnia,” which she adamantly claims not only profoundly shaped her life and her view of God, but also began her interest in the UK and Ireland from a very young age.
She graduated from College of the Ozarks in MO in ’02 with a BA in Philosophy and Religion, unsure of what to do with such a degree but having an interest in ministry and missions. She got involved in different cross cultural ministries and a worship service at her church, all while holding various part time jobs to pay the bills and believing that her life was about more than pursuing the “American Dream.”
She first got interested in World Harvest and Ireland as a mission field when she attended the Dublin Prayer Conference in ’08. There she fell in love with the people, the country, the relational evangelism, the way the team partnered with Irish churches and ministries, and the work that God was doing. She cannot wait to be on the field and to be a part of such missional living, and she prays God will humbly use her to reach the post-Christian culture that Ireland has become.
