Experience South Asian culture through visits to religious sites (Hindu temples, Muslim mosques, and Sikh temples), Indian shops, and Indian meals.
Engage in extended times of prayer, including prayer times on the street and in small groups. The LEAP schedule reflects our belief that prayer is not merely preparation for "real ministry", but is a real part of the ministry.
Participate several times in relational street evangelism and door-to-door evangelism.
Encourage us all to rediscover the missionary nature and purposes of God and his church.
Expose you to church planting work among South Asians (i.e. Pakistanis, Indians, Sri Lankans) from a Hindu, Muslim, or Sikh background.
Our vision for LEAP:
- To encourage you to step out of your comfort zone by engaging in "hands-on" ministry in a different culture. At the same time LEAP is not a "commando-style", "share-the-gospel eight-hours-a-day" type missions trip. The format is designed to allow us to host a large number of participants (about 80) and to welcome people who have no prior missions or evangelism experience. Those who are nervous but are willing to learn, be flexible, and take steps of faith will find God loves weak and fearful people and desires to use them to accomplish His great purposes!
- To challenge you to pray, especially about the ministry of the WHM London church planting teams and work amongst South Asians in general.
- To give you some opportunities to share the Gospel in the South Asian neighborhoods of West London.
- To allow you to meet and hear from long-term WHM team members and local friends and partners.
