Christ School Bundibugyo
Geographic isolation and rebel warfare have kept Bundibugyo District underdeveloped compared to the rest of Uganda, where it consistently ranks in the bottom 10% of the country on various education measures. This has left the district at the mercy of leaders from the outside, or unqualified or unethical leaders from within. As we look at the future growth of the church, Bundibugyo needs educated leaders who can think critically about the faith, preach biblical sermons, lead others in Scripture study, and provide church leadership.
While our goal at Christ School is sustainability, we have realized that the majority of families whose children attend Christ School cannot afford school fees that will cover our operating expenses. Even though our fees are markedly lower than other boarding schools throughout the rest of the country, our families struggle to meet them. To read more about Christ School click here.
We need ongoing financial support from interested partners to subsidize a quality education for the poorest of the poor. We need partners who believe that a student's potential should not be limited by unfortunate circumstances or geography. These children desperately want an education, and we desperately need help in subsidizing the operating expenses of the school (80% of which go to teacher payroll and feeding costs of students/staff).
Current Operating Expenses: $165,000 annually
