Apprenticeships
We Aim To:
Build a missionary force, fueled by the Gospel and equipped and mentored by veteran staff on World Harvest teams, to take Jesus to the nations.
Equip, train, empower, and mobilize missionary apprentices for effective leadership cross-culturally, developing their love for the gospel, the kingdom, and other cultures. We want apprentices to rely on the gospel more than their gifts and abilities for the purpose of world-wide Kingdom advancement.
The Curriculum Includes:
Kingdom World View
You will explore the nature of the Kingdom, how it works and where you get true power. You will also experience biblical models of teams and gain exposure to new models of church-planting and evangelism in which you encourage the success and the culture of the nationals you serve.
Weak People, Powerful Lives
You will explore the power of the gospel through mentoring using the Sonship discipleship course which examines the book of Galatians and addresses such questions as freedom, weakness, beauty, forgiveness and honor. The gospel gives a believer the unique opportunity to wrestle and enter the challenges of life while simultaneously being offered hope and beauty beyond our imagination.
Culturally Sensitive, Critical Thinking
Forgiveness, mercy and strength are weapons available to the Christian who, armed with a free conscience, can have a significant cross-cultural impact on others. We will encourage a rich experience of the culture you will be in, learn languages and have time to explore the history, the religions, the people themselves and the way they see the world.
Ministry Ability Development
You will be mentored in all sorts of ministry: Evangelism, Speaking, Teaching, Discipleship, Research, Prayer, Exploration Teams, Mercy Ministry
Leadership Training
Our desire is to put you in positions of leadership in order to test and confirm your gifts. We will involve you in the team’s ministry as your interests and gifts surface.
Team Dynamics
To survive your apprenticeship you will need tools for survival in conflict resolution, battling discouragement, and overcoming fear. These skills will serve you well for the rest of your life wherever God takes you.
Prayer as the Source of Power/Kingdom Warfare
The King's army moves on its knees. The real work of mission is prayer and we try to build a lifestyle of prayer into your apprenticeship. WHM is committed to prayer as a way of moving the kingdom forward.
Debriefing
Re-entry Back into Home Culture Whether you return to the USA or begin a long career in missions we will help you get ready for the next chapter.
