Czech Republic Internship

Vision

To testify by word and deed to the gospel of God’s grace and minister to the international community of Prague, Czech Republic, by building a transformational community, primarily through Faith Community Church. It is our desire to be a reproducing church, and to foster the growth of the Czech church.

Overview of our Ministry in Prague

The Prague internship contributes to the larger vision of WHM’s ministry. Prague is a city of about 1.2 million people, with around 30,000 international native English-speaking residents. We seek to reach the international community, including young Czechs, through different team ministries. Much of this ministry happens in our neighborhood, Prague 6. We are involved in the local church, the arts, universities, and ministry to young single people in the city. We seek to build a community that is founded on the gospel, and then invite people to become a part of that community. We hope that when people from our church return to their home cultures, or move on to their next location, they will take the gospel of grace with them into greater Europe and the world.

Prague Interns will experience:

Relational Ministry

  • Weekly Bible studies/dinners
  • Worship services/outreach events
  • Spending time with students (Czech, European & American)
  • Building friendships at hostels we are affiliated with

Mercy & Outreach

  • Volunteering/mentoring at Teen Challenge
  • Interacting with people downtown via creative evangelism
  • A Friday night prayer walk for the city, specifically for those involved in the sex trade

Ongoing Prague Ministry

  • Language learning
  • Participating on worship team, if gifted musically
  • Investing in lives of missionary kids
  • Helping in Children’s church
  • Working alongside and learning from indigenous ministries

Discipleship and Personal growth

  • Bible study and one-on-one discipleship
  • Regular times of prayer and prayer walks around Prague
  • Going through an adapted version of the Sonship course

Internship may include: (according to desire, interest, and availability)
Teaching English, photography, musical venues, evangelism, athletics, mercy and justice work
