Ireland Internship
Vision
To see a movement of vibrant, reproducing churches engaging their communities with the gospel for the advance of the Kingdom in Ireland and into the world.
Overview of our ministry in Ireland
The Republic of Ireland is a nominally Catholic country with the smallest percentage of evangelical Christians of any English-speaking country in the world.
Ireland is at a crossroads: the historic state Church culture and the economic boom of the Celtic Tiger (’95-’08) are long gone – leaving in their wake great ambivalence toward the church’s abuses of power and a deep economic recession. People’s views about faith are becoming less cultural and more authentic and pronounced as individuals either move away from the church completely or desire a deeper experience with God.
Ireland needs relational, teachable young believers who can enter a ministry context with humility and grace – willing to serve under and alongside national leaders for the sake of the gospel. It’s our hope that one day we’ll see Ireland return to her roots and lead the world again in sending missionaries to the ends of the earth.
Ireland Interns will experience:
- Cross-cultural training and acclimation for the American interns in the city centre of Dublin.
- Working side-by-side as a team of Irish and American interns
- Serving in the context of an Irish church or mission in the Republic of Ireland
- A “prayer week” where you’ll meet a variety of Irish leaders and hear about their opportunities and challenges as they seek to see the gospel proclaimed in the Republic.
- Living in community with an emphasis on:
- The transforming power of the gospel in the believer’s ongoing journey with Christ
- Exploring the Word of God through Manuscript Bible Study
- Principles of Biblical leadership and vocational discernment
- One-on-one spiritual mentoring
- Fun in one of the most beautiful settings on earth, beside the Irish sea
