Kenya Internship

Vision

Our small team in Nairobi works in partnership with the Africa Evangelical Presbyterian Church to train church planters, mentor key leaders and engage in mercy ministry. Our desire is to see the AEPC plant healthy, reproducing churches whose gospel-centered, national leaders are involved in holistic and cross-cultural ministries.

Overview

Interns who assist our team will study and apply the principles of grace as they learn about Kenyan and South Asian cultures in the context of serving people in crowded city slums as well as isolated rural villages and displaced peoples’ camps. Our ministries alongside the AEPC include evangelism in market areas, house to house visitation, construction of church buildings, discipleship of children and youth and using gifts of music and drama in worship.

Mercy ministry demonstrates the gospel in practical, physical terms to help meet the many physical and emotional needs that cannot be ignored in the process of church planting in Kenya. We partner with seven churches to reach their communities with the love and hope of Christ by setting up healthcare programs that minister to children and their families.

Kenya Interns will:

Activities may involve taking heights and weights of nursery school children, teaching basic first aid and hygiene to parents and teachers, praying with a family struggling to care for a dying parent, or singing with mentally or physically disabled teens.

Interns contribute significantly to our ongoing ministry in Kenya. We challenge you to come observe, engage, explore and experience missions, and what God might be calling you to do and to learn this summer and beyond.
